Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery or B.U.M.S is a full-time graduate course
focusing on various types of Unani treatments. B.U.M.S is a 4.5-year bachelor's
program followed by a 1-year internship, the program includes different types of
exercises, surgery, diuresis, cupping, therapies, diaphoresis, Turkish bath, etc.
Candidates who wish to pursue B.U.M.S Course are eligible after completing their
10+2 exams from a recognized board having Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and
English as their major subjects with at least 50% marks. Also for some top
colleges admission is granted based on the scores of entrance exams such as
NEET, CPAT. The eligibility can slightly differ depending upon the college the
student seeks for.

B.U.M.S: Admission Process
Admission to B.U.M.S course is done through national or state level medical
entrance tests such as NEET, Combined Pre- Ayush Test (CPAT), CPMEE, KEAM,
etc. Some medical colleges also conduct their own entrance exam to test the
knowledge of candidates. All information related to admission and entrance

B.U.M.S eligibility is that candidates with an average score of 50% or above in
10+2 are eligible. Medical entrance examination application forms are generally
released between February and March. The entrance exam is objective-based,
which contains questions from Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
B.U.M.S Eligibility
The basic eligibility requirements that aspirants must fulfill who seek to pursue B.U.M.S course:
• Students must have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board
with a minimum aggregate of 50% having Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and
English as major subjects.
• Candidate's age must be at least 17 years old in order to be considered.
• Candidates must be in good health, since they may be subjected to medical
examinations before being admitted.
• Also for admission to top colleges, candidates are required to qualify for
medical entrance tests conducted at the state or national level.
• Learning Urdu at school will give an edge to the candidate.

B.U.M.S admission is done through national and state level entrance
examinations. NEET, CPAT, CPMEE, KEAM are a few of the entrance exams.
The steps for entrance-based admission are as follows:
• Online Registration: Students will be provided with a login Id when they
complete their registration online. Students will need an email id, mobile
number and password for online registration.
• Uploading of documents: The students will have to upload the required
documents like photograph, signature, id proof, mark sheet, etc
• Application Fee: Once the documents have been uploaded the student has
to complete the payment which can be done via Credit Card, Debit Card, or
Net Banking.
• Download Application Form: The application form should be downloaded
for future needs.
• Admit Card: Students will receive the admit card on a designated date
before the exam.
• Entrance Examination: Students must wait for the exam dates to be
released and sit for the exam with the objective of clearing it. The
admission will depend on the marks scored in the Entrance Exam.
• Result Declaration: The students will get to know their marks online when
the results will be declared.

B.U.M.S course consists of 4 and half years, followed by 1 year of compulsory
internship training. Examinations for this program are held annually. There are
no online or distance learning programs for this course.
