BTech Admission 2023 in India is mainly done through national, state, or
university/institute-level entrance exams. However, there are few colleges that
offer direct BTech admission on a merit basis. Candidates can sit for top BTech
entrance exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, WBJEE, etc to seek
admission to the BTech course. NTA released the JEE Main 2023 Phase I results
on February 06 and Phase II results on April 29, 2023, to offer BTech Admission

JEE Main 2023 and JEE Advanced are two of the most popular national-level
engineering entrance exams. JEE Main qualified candidates willing to seek
BTech Admission to the top engineering colleges such as IITs and NITs can apply
for the JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced 2023 will be conducted by the 7 IITs on June

BTech Admission Process 2023
Most BTech colleges in India offer admission into BTech courses based on the scores of National level entrance examinations like JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Below given is the detailed admission process into BTech courses:
• Applicants need to qualify for the entrance exam for the course conducted
at the national/ state or university level.

BTech Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

requirements for the course. However the eligibility criteria for BTech courses is
different for different colleges, For instance, some colleges offer direct admission
to the course whereas some conduct entrance exams to shortlist students.
The basic eligibility requirements to pursue a BTech course in India are
mentioned below:
• Aspirants must have passed 10+2 from the science stream having Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics and English as their major subjects.
• Candidates must have to complete their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of
at least 50% marks in each of the subjects.
• There will be a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate score for the
candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories.
• For specializations like Biomedical or Biotechnology Engineering aspirants
need to have Biology as a subject in the 12th Class.
• For admission to top colleges/ universities, aspirants need to qualify for the
entrance examination, the scores or ranks of which will determine their
admission to a college.
• Candidates may also be required to face a Group discussion or personal
interview round followed by a Document Verification process.
