Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology is a 3.5 years undergraduate programme. This includes three years of classroom studies and six months of internship. The programme deals with identifying and diagnosing diseases with the help of clinical laboratory tests by collecting a wide variety of samples from the body.

Admissions are based on the marks scored in pre-university/+12 or equivalent in science. The students must have studied and passed physics, chemistry, biology as subjects and English as one of the languages.

Students with vocational higher secondary education with physics, chemistry, biology, and English conducted by Kerala Government are also eligible for admission to allied health sciences colleges in Bangalore.

Lateral admission to this programme is open to students with a diploma from a recognised government board.

Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom)

Bachelor of Optometry (B.Sc. in Optometry in some universities) is a four-year programme including three years of academics and one year of internship designed to help students learn the basics of vision care. They are trained to prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses.
